Sourced from the clay-limestone terroirs of Vosne-Romanée, the 1er Cru Les Chaumes 2001 from Domaine François Lamarche is an oak-aged Pinot Noir. Notes of cherry, spices, and mushroom. Silky, mineral palate. Perfect with red meats or cheeses, to enjoy through 2025.
Domaine François Lamarche
A family estate rooted at the heart of Vosne-Romanée, where the Burgundian heritage has been passed down for more than two centuries.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the premier crus of the Côte de Nuits, shaping wines of mineral elegance and rare depth.
- Vinification: Traditional methods, aging in oak barrels to reveal the purity of Pinot Noir and the signature of the lieu-dit.
Tasting notes for Domaine François Lamarche Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes 2001
To the eye: Garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of black cherry, faded violet, damp forest floor, and gentle spices, lifted by a saline and chalky touch.
On the palate: Velvety texture, vibrant acidity, and stony minerality, carried through to a long and taut finish where licorice and ripe fruits intermingle.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to bring out its complexity.

A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where freshness and concentration respond to each other in harmony.
- Aging potential: To be enjoyed by 2025; store in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light.
