The Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots 1989, from Domaine François Lamarche, expresses the limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits. This Pinot Noir offers cherry, spices and undergrowth, aged in barrels. Its silky and mineral palate lingers at length. Perfect until 2030 with red meats or cheeses.
Domaine François Lamarche
Heir to a family expertise dating back to the eighteenth century, this estate embodies the soul of Vosne-Romanée, where every cuvée celebrates the alliance of terroir and patience.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits, the cradle of great Pinot Noirs, where the plots of Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru reveal a chalky minerality and a rare elegance.
- Winemaking: A traditional approach, aging in barrels to preserve the purity of the fruit and the natural tension of the grape variety, without artifice.

Tasting notes for Domaine François Lamarche Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots 1989
To the eye: A garnet robe with tawny highlights, of silky texture and a density that heralds an already harmonious substance.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe morello cherry, dried rose and damp undergrowth, lifted by a hint of liquorice and a saline touch evoking the limestone soils of the plot.
On the palate: A lively and precise attack, where melted yet still present tannins unfold alongside a taut acidity and a chalky minerality that carries a long and persistent finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy glass to unlock its full complexity.
Vintage 1989
A generous and balanced vintage, marked by optimal grape ripeness, offering wines that are both full-bodied and elegant, typical of Burgundy.
- Aging potential: Drink now or keep for another 5 to 10 years under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
