The Château Haut-Brion 2012 Magnum, from the gravelly soils of Pessac-Léognan, blends Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. This wine, aged in French oak, offers notes of smoky fruits, spices and a silky palate. Ideal until 2050, it elevates game dishes.
Nestled in the heart of Pessac-Léognan, this historic estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence since the 16th century, combining family tradition and innovation under the aegis of Domaines Clarence Dillon.
- Terroir : Gravelly and clay-limestone soils, imparting a distinctive minerality and rare elegance to the wines.
- Vinification : Meticulous blending of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, aged in French oak barrels for a silky structure and aromatic complexity.
Tasting notes for Château Haut-Brion Haut-Brion 2012 Magnum
- To the eye : Deep purple robe with garnet reflections, of a velvety density and crystalline brilliance.
- On the nose : Aromas of wild blackberry and fresh blackcurrant, evolving towards notes of blonde tobacco, cedar and a saline graphite touch, underlined by a hint of liquorice.
- On the palate : A silky and precise attack, carried by a lively acidity and a well-integrated tannic framework, revealing nuances of candied dark fruits, gentle spices and a chalky minerality in a persistent finish.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
