Born on the clay-limestone soils of Bâtard-Montrachet, this Grand Cru 2014 from Domaine Jean-Claude Ramonet is a pure Chardonnay aged in barrels. It reveals aromas of citrus and white flowers, a mineral palate and a long finish. Best enjoyed with shellfish or cheeses, through to 2045.
Heir to family expertise dating back to the 1920s, this domaine embodies the excellence of Burgundy's grands crus, rooted in the mythical terroirs of Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone and marl soils of the Côte de Beaune, where Chardonnay draws its chalky minerality and characteristic tension.
- Winemaking: Aging in oak barrels, respect for natural cycles and pursuit of a pure and precise expression of the grape variety.
Tasting notes for Domaine Jean-Claude Ramonet Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2014
To the eye – Golden robe with green highlights, of a silky density and a mineral brilliance that heralds a generous and finely chiseled substance.
On the nose – Aromas of candied lemon zest, acacia blossom and roasted hazelnut, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of discreet vanilla, the hallmark of masterful aging.
On the palate – Unctuous and vibrant texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that stretches into a long, saline finish, where ripe yellow fruits and gentle spices intertwine.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a Burgundy glass to unlock its full complexity.
