The Auguste Clape Cornas 2018, born on the schists of Cornas, is a 100% Syrah aged in old foudres. Nose of violet, blackberry and gentle spices, a taut palate with silky tannins and a chalky finish. Built for 10-15 years of aging, it is sublime with a leg of lamb or game.

Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Auguste Clape Cornas 2018
To the eye: Deep red robe with garnet hues, dense and silky, betraying a generous substance and beautiful maturity.
On the nose: Aromas of wild blackberry and fresh violet intertwine with notes of liquorice, black pepper and a saline touch, the signature of great granitic terroirs.
On the palate: A precise, fleshy attack, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, leading to a long, elegant finish where gentle spices and silky tannins intertwine.
Serve at 16°C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2018
A sunny yet balanced vintage, where summer heat ripened the grapes without altering the mineral freshness of the terroir.
- Aging potential: 15 to 20 years, to be stored in a cool cellar (12-14°C) away from light.
