Tasting notes for Château Cheval Blanc 1988
To the eye – A deep garnet robe with tawny reflections, of a chalky density that heralds a matter at once generous and refined.
On the nose – First notes of cedar and blond tobacco, followed by aromas of wild blackberry and prune, before a saline touch comes to underline the complexity of the bouquet.
On the palate – A silky texture, carried by a lively acidity and a discreet minerality, stretching into a long and savory finish where soft spices and candied fruits intertwine.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full aromatic range.
