Nestled in the heart of Saint-Émilion, this iconic estate has embodied Bordeaux excellence for generations, combining family tradition and viticultural precision.
- Terroir : From the gravelly and clay-limestone soils of the Saint-Émilion appellation, where Cabernet Franc and Merlot thrive in harmony, shaping wines of rare elegance.
- Vinification : A meticulous approach, combining fermentation in wooden vats and aging in barrels, to reveal the purity of the fruit and the mineral complexity of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Château Cheval Blanc 1990
To the eye – A deep garnet robe with tawny highlights, of silky density and crystalline brilliance, betraying its age with understated elegance.
On the nose – First, fresh notes of wild mint and tobacco leaf, followed by deeper aromas of candied plum, Russian leather and incense, all lifted by a saline and chalky touch.
On the palate – A full and velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a persistent minerality, stretching into a long and taut finish, where ripe dark fruits and gentle spices intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 1990
A sunny and generous vintage, in which the summer heat concentrated the grapes without diminishing their freshness, offering a wine of perfect maturity today.
- Aging potential : To be kept for another 10 to 15 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C), away from light, to extend its peak.
