The Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Fontenys 2022 from Joseph Roty, made from Pinot Noir on chalky soils, is aged in new oak barrels. Fresh raspberry and precise tannins on the palate, silky and mineral. To be enjoyed from 2032 onwards with game or rich dishes.
Rooted in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, this family estate perpetuates a winemaking heritage dating back to the 19th century.
- Terroir: clay-limestone and chalky soils of the Côte de Nuits, where Pinot Noir expresses a deep minerality and a taut elegance.
- Vinification: destemmed grapes, fermentation in concrete tanks and ageing in new oak barrels for a precise and silky structure.
On the eye: a deep purple robe, dense and of a velvety texture, heralding a generous substance.
On the nose: an explosion of fresh raspberry, followed by notes of black cherry, violet and a mineral touch reminiscent of the damp chalk of the hillsides.
On the palate: a silky attack, a lively acidity that carries the tension, tannins that are present yet fine, and a saline and chalky finish of great length.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its aromas.
A vintage marked by generous ripeness and preserved freshness, ideal for wines intended for ageing.
- Ageing potential: to be kept until 2039 in a cool, humid cellar, away from vibrations.
