Tasting notes for Pétrus 1983
To the eye – A ruby robe with tawny reflections, of a silky texture and velvety depth, betraying an accomplished maturity.
On the nose – Aromas of prune and dried fig intertwine with notes of truffle, undergrowth and gentle spices (cinnamon, clove), lifted by a mineral touch and a hint of smokiness.
On the palate – A smooth texture and melted tannins, carried by a lively acidity and chalky minerality, leading to a long and warm finish marked by an elegant bitterness.
Serve at 16–18 °C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
