The Pétrus 2000, born on the blue clay of Pomerol, is a pure Merlot aged in oak barrels. It seduces with its aromas of truffle, blackberry and graphite, and its velvety palate with silky tannins. To be decanted 2 to 4 hours, it pairs with noble meats and can be cellared until 2050.
On the Pomerol plateau, this family estate has cultivated for generations an exceptional terroir, where blue clay shapes wines of rare intensity.
- Terroir: 11.5 hectares on a deep blue clay soil at the heart of the Pomerol appellation, conferring a unique minerality and structure to the Merlot.
- Vinification: Ageing in French oak barrels, respecting the purity of the fruit while sculpting a silky texture and an aromatic complexity.
Tasting notes for Château Pétrus Pétrus 2000
To the eye – A deep purple robe with violet reflections, dense and luminous, heralding a generous matter and a rare elegance.
On the nose – First, aromas of black truffle and wild blackberry, followed by notes of cedar, graphite and violet, with a saline touch that underlines the minerality of the terroir.
On the palate – A velvety and powerful texture, carried by tannins of remarkable finesse, where black fruits, sweet spices and chocolate intermingle, for a long and precise finish, marked by a mineral tension.
Serve at 15.5°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
