Tasting notes for Domaine Trapet Chambertin Vieilles Vignes 1989
To the eye: Garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky density and a still-vivid brilliance, betraying a harmonious maturity.
On the nose: Aromas of candied black cherry, damp undergrowth, sweet liquorice and black truffle, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of blond tobacco.
On the palate: Velvety and fleshy texture, supported by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, leading to a long and persistent finish where gentle spices and ripe fruits intertwine.
Serve at 16–17°C in a Burgundy glass to fully release its complexity.

A generous and sun-drenched vintage, where the summer heat provided the Pinot Noirs of Burgundy with optimal ripeness, combining roundness and structure.
- Ageing potential: At its peak today, this wine can still improve over a few more years in a cool, humid cellar, away from vibrations.
