The Château Angélus 1971, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, is born from a clay-limestone terroir set in a natural amphitheatre. Tasting notes for Château Angélus 1971
To the eye – Garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a silky density and a brilliance that reveals its age with nobility.
On the nose – Aromas of candied black cherry, black truffle, soft spices such as cinnamon, followed by a touch of burnished leather and a subtle chalky salinity.
On the palate – Velvety texture, tannins melted into a smooth, unctuous body, lively acidity carrying a discreet minerality, long and persistent finish with notes of liquorice and blonde tobacco.
Serve at 16°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
