Tasting Notes for Château Angélus 1985
Appearance: Garnet red robe with tawny highlights, of a silky density and crystalline brilliance.
Nose: Aromas of wild blackberry and candied blackcurrant intertwine with notes of liquorice, cedar and a saline hint reminiscent of the damp undergrowth of Saint-Émilion.
Palate: Velvety texture, well-integrated yet still present tannins, a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that carries a long, spiced finish, marked by nuances of tobacco and vanilla.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its complexity.
Vintage 1985
A sunny and balanced vintage, where the ripeness of the fruit meets a refined tannic structure, typical of the great years of the Right Bank.
- Aging Potential: Drink now or keep until 2030 in a cellar at constant temperature (12–14°C) and controlled humidity.
