Tasting notes for Château Angélus 1992
To the eye – A deep ruby robe with tawny highlights, of a velvety density, betraying an accomplished maturity. On the nose – First, notes of wild blackberry and candied blackcurrant, followed by a hint of liquorice and cedar, before a saline edge comes to underline the freshness of the terroir. On the palate – A silky texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, extends into a long and harmonious finish, where gentle spices and melted tannins intertwine. Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
