Tasting notes for Château d'Yquem Yquem 1999
To the eye – A golden robe with amber reflections, dense and luminous, like liquid honey captured in the glass, revealing an unctuous texture from the very first glance.
On the nose – First aromas of candied white peach and roasted apricot, followed by a touch of toasted vanilla and acacia honey, before a hint of candied citrus zest and a chalky minerality come to balance the richness.
On the palate – The texture is silky, almost palpable, carried by a lively acidity that brings an elegant tension; the flavors of candied fruits and soft spices mingle with a saline and persistent finish of remarkable length.
Serve at 10–12°C in a white Bordeaux-style wine glass to fully release its bouquet.
