The Château Climens 2007, Premier Cru Classé of Barsac, is born on clay-limestone soils. This 100% Sémillon wine, aged 22 months in barrels, marries ripe apricots and caramelized notes with a silky texture and mineral freshness. Perfect with foie gras or Roquefort, it can be cellared until 2067.
Château Climens
Nestled in the heart of Barsac, this family estate embodies the excellence of Bordeaux's great dessert wines, shaped by an exceptional terroir and an organic philosophy.
- Terroir : 30 hectares of red clay and limestone in the Sauternes appellation, where the microclimate encourages noble rot.
- Vinification : Barrel fermentation and meticulous aging to reveal the purity of Sémillon, without artifice.
Tasting notes for Château Climens Climens 2007
To the eye – A golden robe with amber highlights, of silky density, like liquid honey captured in the glass.
On the nose – First, notes of candied apricot and acacia blossom, then touches of golden caramel and candied citrus zest, before a subtle saline hint evoking sea spray.
On the palate – An unctuous yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity that balances the richness, while a chalky minerality extends the finish into a long aromatic persistence.
Serve at 8–10°C in a Bordeaux-style white wine glass to enhance its complexity.
Vintage 2007
A generous vintage, in which the mildness of the climate allowed the Sémillon to reach an ideal maturity, combining richness and freshness.
- Aging potential : To be cellared until 2067 under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
