The Hermitage 2002 from Domaine Jean-Louis Chave, born from the granitic soils of the appellation, is a Syrah wine with notes of blackberry, spices and liquorice. A family estate rooted for more than five centuries on the steep slopes of Hermitage, where each generation refines the art of revealing the terroir.
- Terroir: The granitic and schistose slopes of the Hermitage appellation, bathed by the northern Rhône climate, bestow upon the wines a distinctive minerality and a taut elegance.

To the eye: A garnet red robe with tile-hued reflections, dense and silky, betraying a harmonious ripeness and a velvety structure.
On the nose: aromas of wild blackberry and blackcurrant mingle with notes of violet and liquorice, before giving way to a mineral touch of graphite and a saline hint characteristic of the greatest Hermitage wines.
On the palate: a smooth and fleshy texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretches into a long and persistent finish where nuances of tobacco and gentle spices reveal themselves.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to fully appreciate its complexity.
