The Hermitage Blanc 2000 from Domaine Jean-Louis Chave reveals the granitic terroirs of Hermitage. A blend of Marsanne and Roussanne, this white wine offers aromas of honey, citrus, and white flowers, supported by an elegant minerality. On the palate, its silky texture and vibrant freshness, with saline notes, make it an ideal companion for shellfish or cheeses, to be enjoyed through 2025.
Domaine Jean-Louis Chave
Since 1472, this family estate has embodied the excellence of northern Rhône wines, rooted in the granitic hillsides of Hermitage.
- Terroir: Granitic and schistose soils of the Hermitage appellation, where Marsanne and Roussanne thrive under a temperate continental climate.
- Vinification: Aged in oak barrels for a pure expression of the terroir, combining tradition and precision.
Tasting notes for Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage Blanc 2000
To the eye: Golden robe with amber highlights, of a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose: Aromas of white flowers and honeysuckle, followed by notes of acacia honey, candied citrus, and a chalky mineral touch.
On the palate: Smooth attack, balanced by a lively tension, with flavors of white peach and mirabelle plum, and a remarkably long saline finish.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass.
