Tasting notes for Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage 1997
- To the eye : A deep ruby-red robe with slightly brick-toned reflections, revealing a dense texture and generous substance.
- On the nose : A complex bouquet where aromas of blackberry and blackcurrant intertwine, evolving towards notes of liquorice, undergrowth and smoke, with a mineral touch reminiscent of flint.
- On the palate : A silky and velvety attack, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a long and harmonious finish, marked by melted tannins and a persistent elegance.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Burgundy-style red wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
