The Hermitage Blanc 1996 from Domaine Jean-Louis Chave, born from the granitic soils of Hermitage, blends Marsanne and Roussanne. Notes of honey, chamomile and wet stone, barrel-aged. Silky, mineral and fresh on the palate. Ideal with grilled lobster, this age-worthy wine remains full of vitality.

Since 1481, this family estate has embodied the excellence of the northern Rhône wines, rooted in the granitic hillsides of Hermitage.
- Terroir: Granite, loess and alluvial soils from the mythical parcels of the appellation, shaping wines of rare minerality and depth.
- Vinification: Traditional methods, barrel ageing for a pure expression and silky texture, without artifice.
Tasting notes for Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage Blanc 1996
To the eye – A deep golden robe with amber highlights, of a velvety density, like liquid honey captured in time.
On the nose – First notes of honeysuckle and dried chamomile, then wafts of wet stone and dry grass, before a saline touch reminiscent of Rhône sea spray.
On the palate – A rich and unctuous texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a long and persistent finish where sweetness and tension intertwine.
Serve at 9°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to reveal its full complexity.
