The Hermitage Blanc 1999 from Domaine Jean-Louis Chave, drawn from Rocoules and l'Ermite, blends Marsanne and Roussanne aged in barrels. Notes of barley sugar and nutmeg, generous and mineral palate. Perfect with foie gras or trout, it will age for another ten years.

A family heritage rooted on the granitic slopes of the Hermitage for more than five centuries, where each cuvée reflects the patience and precision of an exceptional terroir.
- Terroir: Granitic and schistose soils on the slopes of the Hermitage, in the northern Rhône, lending the wines a distinctive minerality and unique aromatic depth.
- Winemaking: Fermentation in neutral oak barrels and extended aging to reveal the purity of the fruit while preserving the balance between richness and freshness.
Tasting notes for Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage Blanc 1999
To the eye: Golden robe with amber highlights, of an unctuous and slightly oily texture, betraying a generous ripeness and a complexity acquired over time.
On the nose: Aromas of heather honey, toasted nutmeg, and barley sugar, followed by a saline touch and a hint of hazelnut butter.
On the palate: A rich and silky attack, carried by a lively acidity that balances the density of the wine, while a chalky minerality and a long, almost nourishing finish give way to notes of Brazil nuts and golden caramel.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a white Burgundy-style wine glass to bring out its complex aromas.

A generous and structured vintage, marked by optimal grape ripeness, offering a rare balance between richness and freshness for the white wines of the Hermitage.
