The Robert Groffier Bonnes Mares 2020, a Pinot Noir from the eponymous estate, comes from 80-year-old vines in Bonnes Mares Grand Cru. Black fruits, tobacco and chalky minerality define its nose. On the palate, silky and fresh, with fine tannins. Perfect through 2035 with red meats or cheeses.

Tasting notes for Domaine Robert Groffier Bonnes Mares 2020
To the eye: A deep garnet-red robe of silky density, where light reflects with crystalline precision.
On the nose: A bouquet of vibrant freshness – wild blackberry, black cherry, then hints of blonde tobacco and liquorice, followed by a mineral touch evoking crushed limestone and a saline note.
On the palate: A velvety texture, carried by fine tannins and a taut acidity, where black fruits, soft spices and a chalky minerality intertwine, leading to a long, saline and persistent finish.
Serving temperature: 14–16°C, in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2020
A vintage marked by early ripeness and aromatic concentration, offering a perfect balance between freshness and structure.
- Ageing potential: 15 to 20 years, to be stored under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity).
