Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru 2021 from Domaine Joseph Roty, born in the Côte de Nuits. This Pinot Noir, aged in new oak barrels, reveals aromas of raspberry and spices, underpinned by a fine minerality. Dense and elegant, it offers velvety tannins and a lively acidity. To be cellared until 2029.
Nestled in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, this family estate embodies the exacting standards of an exceptional terroir, passed down with passion from generation to generation.- Terroir : The vines, rooted in the clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits, draw their character from a chalky subsoil, the signature of the Grands Crus of Burgundy.- Vinification : A meticulous approach, combining tradition and precision – complete destemming, fermentation in concrete tanks and ageing in new oak barrels for a pure expression of Pinot Noir.
To the eye – A deep, dense and luminous purple robe with almost silky highlights, heralding a generous and concentrated wine.
On the nose – First, fresh aromas of raspberry and morello cherry, followed by deeper notes of liquorice and undergrowth, lifted by a mineral and saline touch, like an echo of the chalky terroir.
On the palate – An ample and velvety texture, carried by powdery tannins and a lively acidity, weaving an elegant structure; the minerality lingers on a long and fragrant finish, leaving an impression of tension and purity.
To be served at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
A vintage marked by freshness and concentration, where climatic rigour sculpted wines of great precision, combining power and finesse.
- Ageing potential : To be cellared until 2036, or beyond, under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity and away from light).
