Joseph Roty Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Fontenys 2010, grown on the limestone slopes of Gevrey-Chambertin. This barrel-aged Pinot Noir reveals morello cherries, spices and a chalky minerality. On the palate, lively and silky, with elegant tannins. Ideal until 2035 with duck breast or cheese.
A family estate rooted in the hillsides of Gevrey-Chambertin, where time seems suspended between tradition and precision.
- Terroir: clay-limestone, chalky soils within the Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru appellation, where Pinot Noir draws its minerality and tension.
- Vinification: long oak barrel aging, measured extraction to preserve the elegance and freshness of the fruit.
In the glass – a deep ruby robe with garnet reflections, of a silky and luminous density.
On the nose – aromas of ripe morello cherry and blackcurrant, followed by notes of violet, cedar and a peppery touch, lifted by a saline and chalky minerality.
On the palate – a velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and mineral tension, with fine and ripe tannins, a long and precise finish where gentle spices and freshness intertwine.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its full complexity.
A vintage marked by perfect ripeness and preserved acidity, offering balance and ageing potential.
- Ageing potential: up to 25 years, to be stored in cool and stable conditions, away from light.
