The Marsannay 2023 from Domaine Joseph Roty, born on the chalky soils of Burgundy, is a Pinot Noir with aromas of raspberry and rhubarb. On the palate, crunchy red berries, a lively acidity and a saline touch. To be waited until 2027 for pairings with slow-cooked dishes or cheeses.
Rooted in Gevrey-Chambertin for generations, this family estate cultivates a heritage of old vines and an uncompromising standard of excellence.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the AOC Marsannay, where Pinot Noir draws its chalky minerality and natural tension.
- Vinification: Ageing in barrels for a precise expression, between fruity freshness and silky structure.
On the eye: Intense ruby robe with dense highlights, of an almost velvety texture.
On the nose: Tangy raspberries and fresh rhubarb intertwine with notes of damp undergrowth and a saline touch, like a gust of wind over the hillsides.
On the palate: The lively acidity draws a taut thread, carried by crunchy red berries and a chalky minerality – the finish, saline and persistent, evokes the warm stones of the plots.
Serve at 14-16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its aromas.
A vintage marked by a vibrant freshness, where the balance between acidity and tannin ripeness promises a harmonious evolution.
- Ageing potential: To be kept until 2031 in a cool cellar (12-14°C) and away from light.
