The Joseph Roty Marsannay Ouzeloy 2022 from Domaine Joseph Roty is born from the deep clays of Ouzeloy, in Marsannay. This Pinot Noir, aged 16 months in barrels, offers notes of dark fruits and liquorice. Its precise and mineral structure, with firm tannins, will pair well with game from 2029 onwards.
A family estate rooted in the Côte de Nuits for six generations, Domaine Joseph Roty cultivates a heritage of precision and respect for the terroir.- Terroir : Deep clays and alluvial fan of the Marsannay hillsides, where the Pinot Noir draws its minerality and structure.- Vinification : Aged in barrels (60% new) for an expression that is both silky and taut, with no artifice.
To the eye: Deep garnet robe with violet highlights, of a chalky density that heralds a generous substance.
On the nose: Freshness of black raspberry and morello cherry, followed by darker notes of wild blackberry and liquorice, with a saline touch in the background.
On the palate: Silky yet firm texture, carried by a lively acidity and a stony minerality – long and taut finish, where dark fruit mingles with a hint of graphite.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its aromas.
A vintage marked by early ripeness and ripe tannins, without excess concentration, offering a promising balance.- Ageing potential : To be cellared until 2036 in cool and stable conditions (12–14°C, controlled humidity).
