The Joseph Roty Mazy-Chambertin 2022, a Pinot Noir from Gevrey-Chambertin, draws its complexity from chalky soils. Aged in new oak barrels, it marries blackberry, liquorice and a subtle woody touch. On the palate, silky tannins and lively acidity lead to a mineral finish. Ideal with game or cheese through to 2035.
Nestled in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, this family estate has embodied Burgundian rigour and tradition for several generations.
- Terroir : Plots nestled within the Grands Crus of the Côte de Nuits, where clay-limestone soils and south-east exposures sculpt wines of unique mineral depth.
- Vinification : A precise yet respectful approach, combining fermentation in concrete tanks and aging in new oak barrels to reveal the purity of Pinot Noir.
On the eye: A garnet red robe with deep reflections, silky density and crystalline brilliance.
On the nose: First aromas of wild blackberry and fresh raspberry, followed by darker hints of tar and liquorice, all underscored by a subtle chalky salinity.
On the palate: A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and taut minerality, stretching into a long and precise finish where juicy red fruits and gentle spices intertwine.
Serve between 14 and 16 °C in a Burgundy glass to bring out its full complexity.
A vintage marked by early ripeness and concentrated fruit, while retaining the characteristic mineral freshness of the great terroirs of Gevrey-Chambertin.
- Ageing potential : To be cellared for 10 to 15 years in a cool cellar (12-14 °C) away from light, to allow its nuances to blossom over time.
