Domaine Joseph Roty presents this Côte de Nuits-Villages 2021, born on chalky soils. This Pinot Noir (65 years old) combines raspberry, strawberry and floral notes, aged 50% in new barrels. The palate, silky and mineral, lingers with elegance. Perfect for 5 to 8 years of ageing, with game or cheeses.
A family estate rooted in the hillsides of Gevrey-Chambertin, where Pinot Noir expresses itself with rare precision.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits Villages, marked by a chalky minerality and an ideal exposure.
- Vinification: Ageing in barrels (50% new) for a silky structure, without masking the purity of the fruit.
On the eye: Deep garnet robe with ruby highlights, of a dense and luminous texture.
On the nose: Fresh wild strawberry, tangy raspberry, then notes of violet and liquorice, lifted by a saline and chalky touch.
On the palate: Lively and precise attack, silky tannins, mineral tension and a long finish, carried by an elegant salinity.
Serve at 14-16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its aromas.
A vintage marked by a vibrant freshness, where the balance between acidity and grape ripeness yields wines of great precision.
- Ageing potential: 8 to 12 years, to be kept in a cool cellar (12-14°C) and away from light.
