Joseph Roty Gevrey-Chambertin Champs Chenys 2023 from Domaine Joseph Roty, crafted from old-vine Pinot Noir. Chalky soils, nose of black fruits and spices, aged in barrels. Lively, silky and mineral palate. To be savoured today or cellared for 8 to 10 years, with roasted meats.
Nestled at the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, this family estate has cultivated a viticultural heritage for generations, where time seems suspended between the old vines and the chalky soils.
- Terroir: The hillsides of Gevrey-Chambertin, marked by limestone and clay-limestone soils, lend the wines a distinctive minerality and unique depth.
- Vinification: A respectful approach, combining late harvest and patient ageing, for wines of rare tension and elegance.
To the eye: A deep ruby robe, of a silky density, where light dances with a velvety intensity.
On the nose: Aromas of fresh black cherry, violet and liquorice, lifted by a hint of damp undergrowth and a subtle mineral salinity.
On the palate: A broad and precise texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, stretching into a long and taut finish.
Serve at 14-16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where freshness and concentration respond to each other in harmony.
- Ageing potential: Store for 10 to 15 years in a cool, humid cellar, away from light.
