Gevrey-Chambertin Champs Chenys 2022 by Domaine Joseph Roty – Sourced from old Pinot Noir vines (1934) in Gevrey-Chambertin, aged 16 months in oak barrels. Aromas of red fruits and spices. A silky, mineral and taut palate. To enjoy through to 2030 with game or aged cheeses.
A family estate rooted in the hillsides of Gevrey-Chambertin, where time seems suspended between tradition and precision.
- Terroir : Clay-limestone soils, rich in chalky pebbles, shape wines of vibrant minerality, sourced from old vines planted in 1934 in the lieu-dit Champs Chenys.
- Vinification : Fermentation in concrete vats followed by ageing in new oak barrels, producing wines that are both silky and remarkably taut.
- To the eye : A deep ruby robe, with a velvety density, where light dances with a discreet elegance.
- On the nose : Aromas of fresh raspberry and morello cherry intertwine with notes of prune, before giving way to a touch of liquorice and a subtle chalky salinity.
- On the palate : A silky texture, carried by a lively acidity and a taut minerality, that stretches into a long and precise finish, where gentle spices and ripe fruits intermingle.
Serve between 14 and 16°C, in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
A vintage marked by generous ripeness, where the summer heat concentrated the fruit without altering the freshness.
- Ageing potential : To be kept until 2035 under optimal conditions (stable temperature, away from light).
