The Gevrey-Chambertin Cuvée de la Brunelle 2018 from Domaine Joseph Roty, born on the limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits, expresses notes of black cherry and earth, aged in barrels at 50%. On the palate, a balance between silk and mineral tension. Ideal with game or cheeses, to be kept until 2030.
Rooted since 1710 in Gevrey-Chambertin, this family estate embodies the Burgundian heritage, where every bottle carries the memory of generations.
- Terroir : The clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Nuits, marked by chalky marls, give the wines their characteristic minerality and tension.
- Vinification : Late harvest, long maceration and ageing in oak barrels (50% new) for a simultaneously powerful and precise expression of the Pinot Noir.
To the eye: Deep red robe with garnet highlights, of a silky density and a mineral brilliance.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe black cherry, damp undergrowth, soft liquorice and discreet spices, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of noble wood.
On the palate: Velvety and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long and balanced finish where black fruits and earthy notes intertwine.
Serve between 16 and 18°C in a Burgundy glass to reveal its complexity.
A generous vintage, marked by a hot and sunny summer, offering full-bodied and structured wines, while retaining a lovely freshness.
- Ageing potential : To be kept until 2030 and beyond, under optimal conditions (stable temperature, controlled humidity and away from light).
