Joseph Roty Charmes-Chambertin Très Vieilles Vignes 2010 from Domaine Joseph Roty, sourced from old vines on the slopes of Gevrey-Chambertin. Aromas of black fruits, liquorice and minerals, silky texture and chalky minerality. To enjoy with red meats or aged cheeses until 2035.
Nestled in the heart of Gevrey-Chambertin, this family estate embodies the heritage of an exceptional terroir, passed down with exacting standards across four generations.- Terroir : clay-limestone, chalky soils, typical of the Grands Crus of the Côte de Nuits, where Pinot Noir draws its minerality and tension.- Vinification : ageing in oak barrels, respect for old vines and the pursuit of a pure, unadulterated expression, where fruit and rock are in dialogue.
To the eye – a deep ruby robe with garnet highlights, of a silky density, like liquid velvet.
On the nose – first aromas of black cherry and kirsch, followed by fresh violet, then liquorice and flint, with a saline undertone in the background.
On the palate – an ample yet taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and chalky minerality, fine tannins and a long finish, where soft spices and mineral freshness intertwine.
Serve at 16-18°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
A vintage marked by perfect maturity and preserved freshness, offering wines of rare precision and vibrant energy.- Ageing potential : to be kept until 2035-2040 in a cool (12-14°C) and humid cellar, away from light.
