The Marsannay Champs Saint Etienne 2023 from Joseph Roty, crafted from Pinot Noir, expresses the clay-limestone soils of Marsannay. Red fruits, gentle spices and a silky, mineral and lively palate. Perfect with braised dishes or red meats. Ageing: 3 to 5 years.
A family estate rooted in the hillsides of Marsannay, where Pinot Noir has flourished for generations.
- Terroir: clay-limestone parcels of Champs Saint Etienne, in the Marsannay Appellation, where chalk surfaces and lends wines their mineral tension.
- Vinification: barrel ageing for a precise expression of the fruit, without artifice, respecting the grape variety and the vintage.
To the eye: ruby robe with garnet highlights, of a silky and luminous density.
On the nose: morello cherry, fresh raspberry, a touch of violet, then a subtle chalky note that heralds the minerality.
On the palate: velvety texture, lively acidity and fine tannins, a discreet salinity that carries the finish with an elegant and taut length.
Serve at 14-16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its aromas.
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where freshness and concentration respond to each other in harmony.
- Ageing potential: to be enjoyed until 2028-2030, stored away from light and temperature variations.
