From the clay-limestone hillsides of Volnay, the Volnay 2022 Magnum from Domaine Michel Lafarge is a barrel-aged Pinot Noir. Its aromas of red fruits and spices combine with a distinctive minerality. Its velvety, fresh palate makes it a well-balanced wine. Ideal for 8 to 15 years, with roasted meats.
Heir to a two-hundred-year-old winemaking tradition, this family estate embodies the soul of Volnay, where Pinot Noir flourishes with grace.
- Terroir: clay-limestone and marly soils of the Volnay appellation, in the Côte de Beaune, shaping wines of mineral elegance and rare precision.
- Vinification: traditional methods, measured aging in oak barrels and a philosophy respectful of the fruit, for cuvées of vibrant purity.
Tasting notes for Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 2022 Magnum
To the eye: a deep ruby robe with garnet hues, of a silky and luminous texture.
On the nose: aromas of black cherry and fresh morello cherry intertwine with notes of violet and undergrowth, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of soft licorice.
On the palate: a lively and precise attack, where mineral tension meets a fleshy, chalky substance, for a long and saline finish carried by an elegant acidity.
Serve between 14 and 16°C, in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
