The Volnay 1er Cru Les Mitans 2006, from Domaine Michel Lafarge, expresses the clay-limestone terroir of Volnay. A Pinot Noir with notes of cherry and spice, aged in barrels. Silky and mineral on the palate, to be enjoyed through 2025 with roasted meats or cheeses.

To the eye: Garnet robe with tile-red highlights, of a silky density and a mineral brilliance that heralds a harmonious structure.
On the nose: Aromas of fresh morello cherry, faded violet, damp undergrowth and liquorice, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of flint.
On the palate: Velvety and taut texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality, with a long, persistent finish where gentle spices and dark fruits intertwine.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
