This Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets 2006 from Domaine Michel Lafarge, sourced from vines planted in 1957, marries elegance and precision. Aged in barrels (20% new), it offers silky tannins, a taut acidity and mineral notes. Ideal with red meats, it can age until 2030.

Tasting notes for Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets 2006
To the eye: A garnet red robe with tawny hues, of a silky texture and a chalky density that hints at its depth.
On the nose: First, aromas of fresh morello cherry and wild raspberry, followed by notes of violet, damp undergrowth and a saline touch reminiscent of the limestone rocks of the terroir.
On the palate: A vibrant and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and a chalky minerality, leading to a long and elegant finish where gentle spices and silky tannins intertwine.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to enhance its purity.
