Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er cru Les Caillerets 2023 Magnum
The Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets 2023 Magnum from Domaine Michel Lafarge, from clay-limestone soils, is a Pinot Noir aged in oak barrels. Notes of cherry and violet, silky palate and chalky minerality. To be waited 10 years, it pairs with game and aged cheeses.
Domaine Michel Lafarge
Heir to a family know-how dating back to the 19th century, this domaine de Volnay embodies Burgundian elegance, rooted in the hillsides of the Côte de Beaune.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils and marls of the lieu-dit Les Caillerets, where Pinot Noir expresses a chalky minerality and vibrant tension.
- Vinification: Traditional methods, barrel aging for a pure expression of the terroir, without artifice.
Tasting notes for Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets 2023
To the eye: Garnet robe with ruby highlights, of a silky and luminous density.
On the nose: Aromas of fresh morello cherry, peony and soft liquorice, lifted by a hint of flint and a subtle mineral salinity.
On the palate: Satin texture, precise acidity and rounded tannins, carried by a chalky minerality that extends the finish into a long saline persistence.
Serve at 14-16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its nuances.
Vintage 2023
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where freshness and concentration combine to deliver a wine of great precision.
- Aging potential: 10 to 15 years, to be kept in a cool cellar (12-14°C) and away from light.
