The Volnay 1er Cru Clos du Château des Ducs 2001 from Domaine Michel Lafarge is a Pinot Noir born on a chalky terroir. Its aromas of red fruits and soft spices, aged in barrels, precede a silky and mineral palate. To be enjoyed until 2025, it pairs with game and aged cheeses.

- Vinification: Traditional methods, aged in barrels to preserve the tension and precision of the fruit.

To the eye: Garnet robe with tawny highlights, of a velvety and deep texture.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe morello cherry, faded violet, damp undergrowth and a saline touch evoking the limestone soils of the Clos.
On the palate: A silky attack, vibrant acidity and chalky minerality that carry a long and taut finish, marked by notes of liquorice and soft spices.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its nuances.

A vintage marked by balanced maturity, where the coolness of the nights preserved the tension of the Pinot Noir.
