Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er cru Clos des Chênes 2020
The Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes 2020, from the hillsides of Volnay, reveals the elegance of the great Pinot Noir wines of Bourgogne. Its aromas of cherry and spice unite with a silky and mineral palate. Perfect for cellaring, it enhances game and refined dishes.
Domaine Michel Lafarge
Heir to a family expertise dating back to the early 19th century, this estate embodies the soul of Volnay, where each cuvée celebrates the alliance of terroir and patience.
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Beaune, where the Premiers Crus of Volnay reveal a mineral elegance and a chalky depth.
- Winemaking: Traditional methods, aging in oak barrels to preserve the purity of the Pinot Noir and the tension of the fruit.
Tasting notes for Domaine Michel Lafarge Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes 2020
To the eye: A deep purple robe of silky density, where light dances with an almost mineral intensity.
On the nose: Aromas of fresh black cherry, wild blackberry, and violet, followed by a touch of liquorice and a subtle chalky salinity, like an echo of the soils of Volnay.
On the palate: a velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and a taut minerality, stretching into a long and precise finish, where ripe fruits mingle with a touch of noble bitterness.
Serve at 14–16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 2020
A vintage marked by early ripeness and remarkable concentration, where freshness and structure balance each other with rare elegance.
- Aging potential: 10 to 15 years, to be stored in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light.
