Tasting notes for Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 1978
To the eye – A garnet robe with brick-red hues, dense and luminous, betraying a harmonious maturity and a velvety texture.
On the nose – First, notes of candied blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by a hint of cedar and blond tobacco, before a saline touch comes to underscore the mineral freshness of the terroir.
On the palate – A supple and silky attack, carried by a lively acidity and a tannic structure still present yet well-integrated, giving way to a long and chalky finish where soft spices and liquorice intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its complexity.
