- Vinification : Tradition and precision, where every step — from manual harvesting to aging in oak barrels — is orchestrated to reveal the purity of the fruit and the complexity of the terroir.
Tasting notes for Château Lafite Rothschild Carruades de Lafite 2014
- On the eye : A deep garnet red robe of silky density, where ruby reflections betray a still vibrant youth.
- On the nose : First, aromas of fresh blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by more enveloping notes of cedar, blonde tobacco, and a subtle hint of graphite — like a mineral breath rising from the estate's gravel beds.
- On the palate : A precise and velvety attack, where the tension of the Cabernet Sauvignon marries the roundness of the Merlot, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that stretches into a saline and persistent finish.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
