Appearance – A deep ruby robe with tawny reflections, of a silky density, betraying both the ripeness and the preserved freshness of this great vintage.
Nose – First, aromas of candied black fruits, blackberry and blackcurrant, which give way to more complex notes of blond tobacco, cigar box, black truffle and a mineral hint of graphite, like a breath of undergrowth after rain.
Palate – A velvety, almost unctuous texture, carried by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that brings tension and length; the finish, of rare elegance, leaves lingering nuances of licorice and cedar, with a subtle salinity that invites the next sip.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to fully release its aromas.
