The Esprit Libre 2019 by Thomas Batardière, a dry white wine from Anjou, draws its minerality from the gravelly soils of Rablay-sur-Layon. This Chenin Blanc, vinified in stainless steel and aged on fine lees, offers floral aromas and a lively, saline and precise palate. Perfect as an aperitif or to cellar for 3 to 5 years.

Nestled in Rablay-sur-Layon, this family estate embodies the alliance of an exceptional terroir and a respectful viticulture guided by biodynamics.
- Terroir: 4 hectares of vines in Anjou, where gravelly soils of red sand, quartz and clay sculpt wines of rare minerality.
- Vinification: Natural and low-intervention methods, with stainless steel fermentation and aging on fine lees to preserve the purity of the Chenin.

To the eye – A golden robe with pale highlights, of a crystalline clarity, revealing a silky texture and an immediate visual tension.
On the nose – An airy bouquet where notes of acacia blossom, crisp green apple, candied citrus and a saline touch reminiscent of sea spray intertwine, all underpinned by a chalky minerality.
On the palate – A lively and precise attack, where taut acidity dialogues with a persistent salinity, while aromas of white fruits and a hint of wild honey stretch into a long and elegant finish.
Serve at 12°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass to enhance its complexity.
