Domaine Thomas Batardière
A family estate rooted in the hillsides of Rablay-sur-Layon, where Chenin Blanc flourishes beneath the Loire sky.
- Terroir : 4 hectares farmed organically, on schist soils of the Loire Valley, crafting wines of vibrant minerality and natural elegance.
- Vinification : Gentle and respectful methods — spontaneous fermentation, aging in 500-liter barrels, without superfluous additives, to reveal the purity of the fruit and the tension of the terroir.

Tasting notes for Thomas Batardière Les Cocus 2023
- Appearance : Golden robe with green highlights, of silky clarity and a brilliance that heralds a wine that is at once dense and airy.
- On the nose : Aromas of acacia blossom, crisp green apple, ripe pear, and citrus zest, lifted by a saline touch and a chalky minerality evoking the schist soils of the hillside.
- On the palate : Lively and precise attack, carried by a taut acidity and a smooth texture; the salinity lingers on the finish, leaving an impression of mineral freshness and elegant length.
Serve between 10 and 12°C, in a "universal" white wine glass to fully appreciate its complexity.
Vintage 2023
A vintage marked by balanced ripeness, where the freshness of Chenin marries a subtle concentration, reflecting the rigor of the terroir and the gentleness of the late season.
- Aging potential : Enjoy now for its vibrancy, or cellar for 5 to 8 years in a cool cellar (12–14°C) away from light, to allow its deeper notes to blossom.
