Tasting notes for Domaine Armand Rousseau Gevrey-Chambertin 2018 To the eye: A deep ruby robe with garnet highlights, of a silky density and crystalline brilliance, heralding a character that is both generous and precise. On the nose: A bouquet where ripe black cherry, fresh blackcurrant, touches of violet and a hint of liquorice mingle, before a subtle chalky note underlines the minerality of the terroir. On the palate: A velvety attack, carried by a lively acidity and a fine tannic structure, where aromas of light tobacco, gentle spices and a saline, long and persistent finish unfold. Serve at 14-16°C in a Burgundy glass to release its full complexity.
