This Hermitage 1993 Blanc from Jean-Louis Chave, born on the granitic soils of the northern Rhône, unites Marsanne and Roussanne. Notes of honey, walnut and chalky minerality, a velvety and saline palate. Perfect with roasted turbot or aged cheeses, it embodies the aging potential of great white wines.

For five centuries, the Chave family has shaped the great wines of Hermitage, rooted on the granitic slopes of this legendary hill in the northern Rhône. A tradition in which respect for the terroir takes precedence over all intervention.
- Terroir: Granitic and schistose soils of Hermitage, fully south-facing – a mineral setting that confers tension and depth to the wines.
- Vinification: Low-intervention methods, aging in barrels to preserve the purity of the Marsanne and Roussanne varieties, without artifice.
Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage Blanc 1993
In the glass: A golden robe with amber highlights, of an unctuous and slightly oily texture, betraying an advanced yet still vibrant maturity.
On the nose: Aromas of acacia honey, fresh walnut and candied fruits, lifted by a hint of beeswax and a subtle mineral salinity.
On the palate: A silky, almost unctuous attack, counterbalanced by a lively acidity and a chalky minerality that carries a long and persistent finish, where sweet spices and undergrowth notes intertwine.
Serve at 9°C in a white Burgundy-style wine glass to fully release its evolved bouquet.
