Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage 2001 blanc, from the granitic hillsides of Hermitage. Born from the Les Rocoules and L'Hermite plots, this white wine offers notes of orange zest, bergamot and caramel. Its palate, mineral and lively, combines silkiness with saline freshness. Perfect with turbot or aged Comté, to enjoy through 2030.
Domaine Jean-Louis Chave
Since 1481, this family estate has been writing the history of the great wines of Hermitage, rooted on the steep hillsides of Mauves, in the Ardèche.
- Terroir: legendary plots – Les Rocoules, L'Hermite, Péléat – where granitic and schistose soils sculpt whites of rare minerality.
- Vinification: a traditional approach, where patience and precision reveal the purity of the grape variety and the complexity of the terroir.

In the glass: a golden robe with green highlights, silky and luminous in texture, like a ray of sunlight caught in the glass.
On the nose: aromas of candied orange zest and fresh bergamot, followed by a touch of aromatic herbs and lavender, before a saline note underscores the granitic minerality of the terroir.
On the palate: a lively and precise attack, where taut acidity meets a chalky texture, carried by a long, saline finish that reveals the full elegance of this great white Rhône wine.
Serving temperature: 12–14°C – Burgundy-style white wine glass to bring out its aromas.
