Jean Louis Chave Hermitage 2004 blanc
The Hermitage blanc 2004 from Domaine Jean-Louis Chave flourishes on the granitic soils of the Hermitage appellation. A blend of Marsanne and Roussanne, it unveils aromas of peach, apricot, and almond paste, enhanced by a touch of noble oxidation. On the palate, its silky texture and vibrant minerality conclude on a long finish with notes of hay. An age-worthy wine, ideal with grilled lobster or poultry in a creamy sauce.

Since 1481, this family estate has embodied the demands and fidelity to the Hermitage terroir, in the northern Rhône Valley.
- Terroir: Granitic and schistous soils of the Hermitage hill, where Marsanne and Roussanne flourish under a temperate continental climate.
- Winemaking: Aging in barrels, with a minimal proportion of new oak, to preserve the purity of the fruit and the chalky minerality of the emblematic plots.
Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage blanc 2004
To the eye: A golden robe with old gold reflections, of a silky and slightly unctuous density, like liquid honey captured in light.
On the nose: Aromas of ripe vineyard peach and candied apricot, then a touch of toasted almond paste, before a saline note and a noble oxidation reveal hints of roasted cereals and dried hay.
On the palate: A broad and velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity that draws the wine toward a chalky minerality, while the finish, of remarkable length, allows nuances of dried fruits and gentle spices to linger.
Serve between 12 and 14°C in a Burgundy-style white wine glass, to release its full complexity.

A vintage in which the maturity of the grapes met a preserved freshness, offering a rare balance between richness and tension.
