Domaine Jean-Louis Chave
A family estate rooted on the steep slopes of Hermitage, where the viticultural tradition has been passed down since the 15th century.

Tasting notes for the wine Domaine Jean-Louis Chave Hermitage 1997
In the glass – A garnet robe with tawny highlights, dense and silky, betraying an accomplished maturity and a velvety structure.
On the nose – First aromas of ripe blackcurrant and wild blackberry, followed by hints of liquorice, dried thyme and a subtle chalky note.
On the palate – A broad and fleshy texture, carried by a lively acidity and a persistent salinity, stretching into a long and elegant finish where sweet spices and melted tannins intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a red Burgundy-style wine glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 1997
A generous and approachable vintage, where the summer heat ripened the grapes without compromising their freshness, offering a rare balance between opulence and finesse.
- Aging potential: To be savoured today or cellared until 2030 in a cellar with a stable temperature (12–14°C) and controlled humidity.
