Tasting notes for Château Haut-Brion 1991
In the eye – A garnet red robe with tawny highlights, dense and silky, betraying an accomplished ripeness.
On the nose – Aromas of candied blackcurrant, wild blackberry, cedar and golden tobacco, lifted by a saline touch and a hint of damp undergrowth.
On the palate – A velvety texture, carried by a lively acidity and chalky minerality, that stretches into a long and taut finish, where gentle spices and dark fruits intertwine.
Serve at 16–18°C in a Bordeaux glass to release its full complexity.
Vintage 1991
A vintage marked by capricious climatic conditions, where the estate's expertise was able to take advantage of a late summer to offer a wine of rare harmony.
- Aging potential: To be enjoyed until 2030, stored in a cool cellar (12–14°C) and away from light.
